Construction of a new plant in India - Start operation from March 2023
Yamazaki Mazak Corporation. (President: Takashi Yamazaki, Oguchi Town, Aichi Prefecture, TEL: 0587-95-1131) will build an India manufacturing plant (name: YAMAZAKI MAZAK MACHINE TOOLS PRIVATE LIMITED) in Pune, Maharashtra, India, in 2023. It will start operations in March.
Since opening a sales base in India in 1998, we have continued to carry out sales and service activities rooted in the local market for many years. We currently have six support locations across India, providing solutions for a variety of industries.
With a population of approximately 1.4 billion and further economic growth expected in India, the demand for machine tools is expected to continue growing in line with the expansion of markets in the automotive, medical, aircraft, and semiconductor industries. Under these circumstances, we will establish the new manufacturing plant in India, build a system that can quickly provide products that meet local needs, and contribute to the development of manufacturing in India.
The India manufacturing plant will start operations in March 2023, and will start producing a new type of vertical machining center developed and designed in Japan for the Indian domestic market. Starting with monthly production of 40 units, we plan to gradually increase the production volume in the future.
With this new plant, we have 11 production bases, 5 in Japan and 6 overseas. Going forward, we will continue to contribute to the development of the global manufacturing industry through the provision of production activities and service support at locations close to our customers.
