World debuts for two new Mazak lasers at Blechexpo 2015

Yamazaki Mazak is giving world debuts to two new fibre laser cutting machines at Blechexpo 2015 in Stuttgart.

The Mazak stand, which will be themed “It’s all about you’ to demonstrate the company’s continued commitment to its philosophy of focusing on its customers and their specific applications, will be situated in Hall 1 of the Stuttgart event.

The two new fibre laser machines join Mazak’s existing 2kW and 4kW lasers to form a comprehensive fibre laser cutting range for all types of application.

Making its world debut will be the OPTIPLEX 3015 Fiber II 6kW machine, which offers ultra-high speed cutting of medium thickness material and has the ability to cut the finest widths and most difficult reflective materials.

Laser-users will also benefit ultra-high speed cutting and lower running costs associated with fibre technology, due to a circa 80 per cent reduction in oscillator electrical power consumption and a 100 per cent reduction in laser gas consumption, compared to CO2 lasers

Completing the Fiber range, and also making its world debut, will be the OPTIPLEX Nexus 3015 Fiber 3kW, a new entry-level laser machine.

The new machine has a large side access door and flexible design, and is available in a single pallet or in an optional automated two-pallet version. Critically, the machine has a minimal floor space requirement, which makes it ideal for subcontractors and laser-users requiring a small footprint machine.

Most importantly, OPTIPLEX Nexus 3015 Fiber 3kW is equipped with a Mazak Multi-control torch with unique ZETA-9 technology, which delivers nine automated set-up and monitoring functions to reduce operator dependency and improve throughput and part quality. The six set-up functions include Focus Detection; Beam Diameter Control; Auto Nozzle Cleaning, Auto Nozzle Changing, Auto Focus Positioning and Auto Profiler Calibration. The three monitoring functions are Piercing Detection, Plasma Detection and Burning Detection, all of which ensure that the operational status of the laser is monitored at all times

Gaetano Lo Guzzo, Director Laser Business Europe for Yamazaki Mazak, commented: “Fibre laser technology offers laser users outstanding focusing capability, with increased accuracy and stability, combined with exceptional energy performance.

“We are very pleased to be able to bring two new fibre machines, both making their world debuts, to Blechexpo 2015, completing our fibre laser range and offering laser users a choice of fibre laser machine to suit each individual application.”
